We’ve made three practical improvements to the Aver customer portal in recent months, all aimed at giving UK importers and exporters more visibility and less admin. You can now see every company invoice in one place, track shipments live with real position data, and start UK customs clearance through a guided online form. Here’s what’s changed and why it matters.

Every invoice for your company is now visible in the portal, and that view is shared — not tied to whoever originally handled the booking. Anyone on your team with portal access can see the same list, so there’s no need to forward emails around the office or wait for someone to check their inbox.
Each invoice has its own detail page showing:
The practical benefit is straightforward self-serve visibility. If finance wants to know what’s outstanding, or someone in operations wants to check whether a particular shipment’s invoice has been settled, the answer is a login away rather than an email to Aver asking us to look it up. It also makes reconciling your own accounts easier, since every invoice is linked back to the shipment it relates to.
Shipment visibility has had the biggest upgrade. The portal now includes a shipments list, a detail page for each one, and a route map showing your vessel’s live position at sea, alongside an ETA and a full milestone history — booked, departed, arrived, customs, delivered.
This uses real tracking data rather than estimated or manually updated schedules, so what you see reflects where your cargo actually is, not just where it was scheduled to be. For anyone managing production schedules, warehouse slots or customer commitments around import timings, that accuracy makes ETAs genuinely useful for planning rather than something to treat with caution.
There’s also a shareable public tracking link for every shipment. If a colleague, a customer, or someone in your supply chain needs a status update, you can send them the link directly — no portal login required on their end. It’s a small feature, but it removes a lot of the “can you just forward me the tracking” back-and-forth that tends to build up around busy shipments.
Combined, these changes mean far fewer “where’s my shipment?” emails to your Aver contact, because the answer is already in front of you. If you’d like a broader look at how our sea freight shipping services fit together with tracking and documentation, that’s covered in more detail elsewhere on the site.
The third update is a new way to start UK customs clearance directly through the portal. Rather than emailing documents and details across several messages, you now work through a guided online form that asks for exactly what’s needed to get your declaration moving — submitted in one flow, in one place.
Once you’ve submitted it, our team takes over the clearance itself. Aver handles UK customs clearance in-house, so there’s no third party involved between your submission and the declaration being filed — our team files it and keeps you updated as it progresses.
From your side, the benefit is a clearer, faster process: one structured place to provide information and documents, rather than piecing it together across email threads, which also reduces the chance of something being missed or a delay caused by a document going astray. If you’re new to UK import procedures generally, GOV.UK is a useful reference point for the wider regulatory background, though for the day-to-day process the portal is now the quickest route in with us.
All three updates are live now for existing Aver customers. If you already have portal access, log in to see your invoices, track your current shipments, or start a customs clearance the new way. If you’re not yet set up, get in touch with the Aver team and we’ll get you access, or if you’re new to working with us, you’re welcome to request a quote and see how the portal fits into your freight and customs operations from day one.
